There are a lot of choices and options available that can quickly overwhelm anxious parents.  Monica’s experience as a teacher and homeschool parent made her an excellent source as she helped us narrow down some options and find the right program for our son.  –Veronica Shaw (parent)

OUTSCHOOL ONLINE TEACHING REVIEWS:

  • A fantastic class! Our Isabella (10) absolutely loved it! I haven’t seen her this engaged with a book, ever! She loved all the classes and the projects as well. All AG lovers will enjoy this class. What a fun opportunity to learn US History, read a fun book and meet new friends while sharing fun activities together 🙂 We loved it so much we signed up for the Josefina class, too!

  • We just finished a fabulous 8-week live online class studying the American Girl Felicity via Outschool with a darling instructor, Monica Kelly. My DD has loved every minute of it and it really brought some life into our study of the colonial era and the American Revolution. We read and discussed all six books, did some art projects, studied vocabulary, had a birthday tea party, and chose from a list of final projects. It was a lot of bang for the buck and way more fun to do with other motivated kids.

  • This class is absolutely phenomenal: from learning about history and vocabulary, to reading and baking bread, the activities are inspired and Ms. Monica is a fantastic teacher. My daughter was incredibly engaged throughout and we cannot wait to start the next American Girl doll class.

  • My 8 year old daughter loved this class! More than history – they did vocabulary, geography, and art as well. Well rounded and interesting. We can’t wait to take another class from Monica.

U.S. History thru the Eyes of the American Girl Dolls: Meet Samantha

Eight year old loved this class. She really wanted to learn about Samantha and her era, and the characteristics that made her a strong role model. It was well structured and fun!

U.S. History thru the Eyes of the American Girl Dolls: Meet Kirsten

Wonderful! My daughter looked forward to this every week.

U.S. History thru the eyes of the American Girl Dolls: Meet Felicity

We took this class as a supplement to our study of The American Revolution- highly recommend! The teacher was kind, patient, engaging and the class was a lot of fun … our child could not wait for the next class and was so sad for it to be over

U.S. History thru the Eyes of the American Girl Dolls: Meet Kirsten

Thank you so much! Zuzu is looking forward to taking another class with you! You are our main staple with the Covid crisis! It’s honestly been part of our experience and I’m sad Zuzu’s class ended too!

My daughter adores Miss Monica so much. She’s like an olden-times, one room schoolhouse teacher that truly cares for her students. She’s patient and kind, shares her adventures with the girls, thoughtful, genuinely interested in all of her students. My daughter is so sad her two American Girl classes with her are now over. We have been SIP since late February and honestly Miss Monica’s classes, Kirsten and Samantha, have been a part of keeping our sanity! My daughter loves anything historical and paired with American Girl is a winning combination. We love that Miss Monica encourages experiential learning, from timelines to vocabulary building, little projects, such as making a pioneer rag doll with the class, a quilt, and final project. She cares for all of her “girls” and it shows. It’s a great class with a very wonderful teacher!

Tutoring

Monica was of great help to my daughter creating routines that work for her, understanding her needs and struggles and finding easy actionable solutions that are easy to implement. Monica also sent a summary of the session with everything explained and extra materials to support what my daughter learned with her to expand her knowledge and habits with time management.
We'll be coming for extra tutoring when need it. Thanks, Monica!
